E Ku’u Akua ē – O My God

Bahá’í Prayer Book – Olelo Hawaii

Sunday November 17th 2019 the National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’ís of the Hawaiian Islands released a new prayer book printed in the Hawaiian language at a ceremonial launch at the National Center in Honolulu. The celebration that brought together Royal Societies, interfaith representatives, the public and the Bahá’ís of the Hawaiian Islands. Noted language translator, Dr. Puakea Nogelmeier, worked intimately with the Bahá’ís to maintain the sacred nature of the original Prayer Book reflected in Olelo Hawaii.

Bahá’ís believe that throughout history, God has sent to humanity a series of divine Educators—known as Manifestations of God—whose teachings have provided the basis for the advancement of civilization. These Manifestations have included Abraham, Krishna, Zoroaster, Moses, Buddha, Jesus, and Muhammad. Bahá’u’lláh, the latest of these Messengers, explained that the religions of the world come from the same Source and are in essence successive chapters of one religion from God. Bahá’ís believe the crucial need facing humanity is to find a unifying vision of the future of society and of the nature and purpose of life.
