From the Spiritual Assembly
Alláh-u-Abhá Dear Friends,
We wanted to take a moment to share with you the profound significance of home visits and the transformative power they hold.
In our fast-paced and often disconnected world, the importance of building meaningful relationships cannot be overstated. Home visits offer a unique opportunity to foster unity and deepen the bonds of friendship within our communities. These visits serve as a reminder that we are all part of a global family and that our interconnectedness extends beyond the boundaries of race, nationality, or background.
At these home visits, we create a space for genuine connection and understanding. They allow us to learn from one another, to share our experiences, and to explore the spiritual teachings that guide our lives. By engaging in deep and meaningful conversations, we can inspire and uplift one another, providing a supportive network for growth and learning.
When mentioning that the purpose of such home visits is to "enter into a deep conversation on spiritual matters," the House of Justice expressed the hope that such visits "not be reduced to a mere social call in which the Faith is not even mentioned."
This calls to mind Abdu'l-Baha's admonition that the believers' conversations should be holy discussions on matters of the moment:
“The attracted leaves should not, when associating with each other, talk merely about the temperature of the weather, the coldness of the water, the beauty of the flowers and gardens, the freshness of the grass and the flowing water. They should rather restrict their discussions to glorification and praise and the uttering of proofs and reasons, to quoting verses and traditions and putting forth clear testimonies, so that all the homes of the loved ones will be converted into gathering places for lessons on teaching the Cause. If ye do so, in a short while the outpourings of the Kingdom will be so manifested that each one of the handmaidens of the Merciful will become a perspicuous book revealing the mysteries of the Lord of Mercy.” (Abdu'l-Baha, from a Tablet translated from the Persian, Compilation on Women)
Through home visits, we can also cultivate a spirit of service and love for humanity. By reaching out to those around us, we demonstrate our commitment to building a stronger and unified community thru service and support at the neighborhood level. We have the opportunity to extend kindness, compassion, and support to those who may be in need, offering a helping hand, a listening ear and sharing some aspect of the Fatih.
Each home visit is an opportunity for personal growth and transformation. As we open our hearts and homes, we not only strengthen our own spiritual connection but also contribute to the advancement of society. By building unity, fostering understanding, and spreading love, we become beacons of hope and agents of positive change in our communities.
We encourage each and every one of you to embrace the power of home visits. Together, we can inspire and uplift one another, forging a path toward a brighter future.

#OurStoryIsOne: Campaign calls for voices of support on June 18
BIC GENEVA — The Bahá’í International Community (BIC) has announced a two-hour social media event for June 18 to honor the memory of the 10 Bahá’í women who were hanged in Shiraz, Iran, 40 years ago on that day as well as to recall the sacrifices of all women for the principle of equality. The initiative, part of the broader #OurStoryIsOne campaign, sheds light on the continuing sacrifices made by Iranian women of every background in their pursuit of justice and gender equality.
The event on June 18 seeks to extend the campaign’s reach and signals the beginning of a year-long endeavor during which the BIC will weekly publish artistic contributions. The intensive phase is scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m. GMT and will span two hours, during which the BIC invites all to post or retweet #OurStoryIsOne.

In a powerful gesture, those present observed a moment of silence to remember the 10 Bahá’í women who were hanged in Shiraz, Iran, 40 years ago by the Islamic Republic of Iran while holding images of the women. The president of the session, Federal Deputy Erika Kokay of the lower house of Congress, stated: “I invite everyone to observe a minute of silence, remembering [how] ... their example of faith and courage... can guide our lives.”
