From the Spiritual Assembly

Allah’u’Abha! Dear friends,

As the holiday season settles in and the lights and festivities of Christmas transform our streets and neighborhoods, the Local Spiritual Assembly wishes to extend its warmest greetings to each of you.

While the Baha’i calendar has its own unique rhythm of holy days, this time of year offers us a beautiful opportunity to reflect on the spiritual heritage we share with our neighbors and to join in the spirit of "the most great joy" that characterizes the season.

The Station of Jesus Christ

During the holidays, we often find ourselves discussing the Baha’i perspective on Jesus with friends and family. It is a wonderful time to share that Baha’is hold the station of Jesus Christ in the highest possible esteem.

Baha’u’llah describes Jesus as the "Lord of the Kingdom" and the "Spirit of God." We believe that His appearance in the world was a divine "Sun of Truth" that shed light upon the hearts of all humanity. Our writings teach that:

"Know thou that when the Son of Man yielded up His breath to God, the whole creation wept with a great weeping. By sacrificing Himself, He infused a fresh capacity into all created things." — Baha’u’llah

To us, Jesus is not merely a historical figure, but a Manifestation of God whose teachings on love, sacrifice, and forgiveness remain a foundational pillar of the one, unfolding religion of God.

A Season of Unity

This month, we encourage everyone to embrace the spirit of fellowship. Whether you are attending a community "Lessons and Carols," sharing a meal with Christian friends, or simply enjoying the atmosphere of goodwill, let us remember that the light of Christ is the same light that shines in every Age.

May your homes be filled with warmth and your hearts with the peace that He promised.

With warmest regards and loving thoughts,
The Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’ís of South Kohala

READ IT

A digital image displays the beginning of a letter. At the top, centered in a slightly larger font, are the words "THE UNIVERSAL HOUSE OF JUSTICE". Below this, right-aligned, is the date "Riḍván 2025". The salutation follows, left-aligned: "To the Baháʼís of the World" and then, on the next line, "Dearly loved Friends,". The body of the letter begins with the paragraph: "With but a year remaining before the first phase of the Nine Year Plan concludes, we are eager to report on its progress—how, through shining examples of noble endeavour, the vision offered by the Faith is filling more and more hearts with hope." The text is presented in a clear, readable serif font on a white background.

LISTEN TO IT

A stylized image with a dreamy, slightly blurred background of soft blue and white roses and dark green foliage features prominent text. Centered and in a large, elegant white font are the words "RIDVAN MESSAGE". Slightly below and to the right, in a smaller white font, is the year "2025". At the very top center, there is a small, rounded rectangle with a teal background containing a series of vertical white lines of varying heights, resembling a soundwave or equalizer. The overall aesthetic is soft, serene, and suggestive of a formal announcement or greeting related to the year 2025.

New film reflects on FUNDAEC’s vision and work over 50 years

CALI, Colombia — What does it mean to see all people as protagonists in the development of their community—a seed whose capacities can be nurtured to bear fruit for generations?

This question animates Weaving Paths, a new documentary released by FUNDAEC to mark its 50th anniversary. The film traces the evolution of this Bahá’í-inspired organization, founded in Colombia in 1974, as it has worked alongside rural communities to develop educational processes that integrate the material and spiritual dimensions of life.

BIC highlights ethics, future generations, and shared responsibility

BELÉM, Brazil — What kind of motivation can compel implementation of difficult decisions required to address climate change, not only today but for generations to come? This question lay at the heart of contributions from the Bahá’í International Community (BIC) at the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30), held in Belém, Brazil, where over 50,000 participants gathered to examine the gap between climate commitments and their implementation.
