From the Spiritual Assembly
Allah’u’Abha! Dear friends,
Each year, Bahá’ís around the world gather in joy and reverence to celebrate the Twin Birthdays—the births of the Báb and Bahá’u’lláh, two Divine Messengers whose lives and teachings have forever changed the course of human history.
The Báb, born in 1819 in Shíráz, heralded a new era of spiritual awakening, calling humanity to prepare for the coming of “Him Whom God shall make manifest.” Two years earlier, in 1817 in Ṭihrán, Bahá’u’lláh—the Promised One foretold by the Báb—was born, destined to reveal a message of unity, peace, and the oneness of humankind.
These Twin Luminaries, like two rising suns, ushered in the dawn of a new Day for the world. Their birthdays, celebrated as one joyous festival, invite us to reflect on themes of renewal, love, and divine purpose.
The following story, “The Twin Luminaries: A Story of the Birth of the Báb and Bahá’u’lláh,” shares this sacred history in a spirit of reverence and wonder—reminding us of the divine light that continues to guide humanity toward unity and peace.

Children's Corner
Each month we will share something for the children in this section of the newsletter. It may be a video, a website, a project, a song, etc. We hope the children like this and get something from our newsletter as well.
Same Dust is an upbeat hip-hop style song inspired by a quote from the Bahá’í Teachings, "Know ye not why We created you all from the same dust? That no one should exalt himself over the other. Ponder at all times in your hearts how ye were created."
The lyrics are from Junior Youth Spiritual Empowerment Program Ruhi Material's "Walking the Straight Path." A link to their website with more details can be found at: https://www.ruhi.org/en/teachers-corner/

Join me as I share photos from my Bahá’í pilgrimage in Haifa, Israel, where I visited the Holy Places at the heart of the Bahá’í Faith. From the Shrine of the Báb with its golden dome to the breathtaking gardens of Mount Carmel and the Bahá’í World Centre, these sacred sites radiate peace, beauty, and spiritual significance. This journey was a time of reflection, prayer, and deep connection with the Bahá’í teachings.
✨ May these glimpses of Haifa inspire you with the serenity and unity that the Bahá’í Faith stands for.

New podcast invites youth to reflect on identity and purpose
ADDIS ABABA — Questions of identity press upon young people worldwide, though they take on dimensions shaped by each society’s particular realities. For Ethiopia’s youth—living in a nation of more than 80 ethnic groups where diversity reflects both the beauty and complexity of the country—these questions have become a subject of deep reflection: What truly defines who we are?
This question lies at the heart of a new podcast series, Youth Discourse, launched by the Bahá’í Office of Public Affairs of Ethiopia. The series explores themes of identity and purpose through conversations inspired by the principles of the Bahá’í Faith.

New book spans 30 years of contributions to discourse on equality
BIC NEW YORK — Marking 30 years since the United Nations’ landmark Fourth World Conference on Women and its Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, the Bahá'í International Community (BIC) recently launched In Full Partnership: Thirty Years of Women's Advancement at the United Nations and Beyond at an event held at its New York Office.
The gathering brought together diplomats, UN officials, and civil society leaders. Ambassador Maritza Chan Valverde of Costa Rica, incumbent Chair of the Commission on the Status of Women, praised the book as a timely contribution to the “unfinished journey” toward equality. “When we put women and girls at the center,” she said, “societies become safer, economies stronger, and peace more enduring.”

UN Secretary-General’s report highlights persecution of Bahá’ís in Iran
BIC GENEVA — A new report by United Nations Secretary-General, António Guterres, has placed the persecution of the Bahá’ís in Iran among the world’s gravest human rights concerns. Issued as part of his latest global report on intolerance and violence based on religion or belief, the document was prepared at the request of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights with input from 15 civil society organizations and 10 UN human rights bodies.
The Secretary-General’s recognition of the gravity of the situation underscores that the persecution of Bahá’ís is a longstanding and systematic policy of religious repression that demands urgent international attention. Bahá’ís in the Islamic Republic of Iran continue to face arbitrary arrests, imprisonment, and restrictions on access to education and livelihoods, targeted solely for their religious beliefs. Authorities routinely invoke vague charges such as “spreading propaganda against the regime” to criminalize peaceful community activities. The rights of Bahá’ís, including to manifest their religion or belief, remain severely curtailed.
