From the Spiritual Assembly
Allah’u’Abha! Dear friends,
As we look out upon the world, we are all aware of the difficulties and uncertainties facing humanity. News of conflict, disunity, and hardship can sometimes feel overwhelming. Indeed, what we are witnessing is the breakdown of the old world order—a system that can no longer meet the needs of a maturing humanity.
And yet, Bahá’u’lláh assures us: “Be not dismayed. Arise to further My Cause, and to exalt My Word amongst men.” His words remind us that our purpose is not to dwell on the disintegration we see all around us, but to turn our attention to building the new world order—one founded on justice, unity, and love.
Here in South Kohala, our collective steps—whether through study circles, devotional gatherings, junior youth groups, or simple acts of love and support—are part of this constructive process. The progress may appear gradual, but it is steady and enduring, like the dawn light growing stronger each day.
The forces of disintegration may shout loudly, but the quiet work of integration—hearts knit together in friendship, children nurtured in spiritual virtues, communities united in service—is the true story of our age. Each of us is a builder, and each contribution adds to the rising framework of a new civilization.
Let us therefore move forward with hope and confidence, assured that the seeds we plant in hearts and in our community will blossom in time. May we encourage one another, pray for one another, and find joy in walking this shared path of service.
With warmest regards and loving thoughts,

Katuyola village establishes first high school
KATUYOLA, Zambia — For years, the path to a high school education in Katuyola, like in so many rural communities throughout the world, led away from home—trekking to distant schools miles away down a road that returned young people to their families only on weekends. It was a journey that disrupted family life and exposed youth to harmful influences contrasted with the environment of moral education and spiritual development the community had carefully cultivated over decades.
However, at the start of the last academic term, the footpaths all led to Katuyola. A new chapter began, as the community took another step forward in addressing educational challenges, establishing the Kaseloki Secondary School—the first community secondary school in the Mwinilunga district.

Bahá’í Chair illuminates resilience during Jim Crow era
COLLEGE PARK, Maryland, United States — Accountability of wrongs and recognition of progress are needed for healing the rifts in society, said Hoda Mahmoudi, Professor and holder of the Bahá’í Chair for World Peace at the University of Maryland.
In that spirit, an oral history initiative by the Bahá’í Chair turned to those who grew up in the shadow of segregation during the Jim Crow era in the United States and asked them to describe, in their own words, how families and neighborhoods shaped lives of dignity, perseverance, and mutual care.

Arts festival at Bahá’í temple affirms longing for connection and shared purpose
LANGENHAIN, Germany — In an atmosphere where music blended with conversation, more than 1,500 people of all generations explored how creativity, grounded in spiritual purpose, can generate joy and strengthen bonds of friendship during the inaugural “Festival of the Arts” that was recently held over a weekend on the grounds of the Bahá’í House of Worship in Hofheim-Langenhain.
From the outset, the festival was envisioned as more than a cultural gathering. “Bahá’í Houses of Worship around the world are places that foster encounters—spaces where people can reflect on the challenges facing society and how we might respond together,” explained temple director Karin Dimitriou.
