From the Spiritual Assembly
Allah’u’Abha! Dear friends,
We wanted to provide information regarding our upcoming Reflection Gathering, a significant occasion for our community to come together, consult, and draw inspiration from the teachings of Bahá’u’lláh. This gathering is scheduled for:
Location: Pāhala Community Center 96 Kamani St #1149, Pahala, HI 96777, USA
Drawing from the experiences shared in "Reflections on Growth," these reflection gatherings are a vital component of our community life and our collective journey of learning and action. They serve as a sacred space for us to:
-
Deepen our understanding and systematic action: Explore the Sacred Writings and gain new insights into their application, moving towards more systematic and organized collective undertakings, as seen in clusters that have experienced sustained growth.
-
Consult together and foster community orientation: Share our experiences, challenges, and triumphs in serving humanity and advancing the Cause. These gatherings encourage a greater "community orientation," motivating us to work more effectively in groups and strengthening the bonds of unity and fellowship among us.
-
Mobilize human resources for growth: Discuss our collective endeavors, identify next steps, and build capacity for our community-building efforts. They are instrumental in mobilizing the emerging army of human resources raised through institute campaigns, preparing us for intensive programs of growth.
-
Plan for the future and intensify activities: Engage in focused consultation to plan for the future, whether it involves launching campaigns to multiply individual actions, organizing collective teaching activities, or preparing for intensive programs of growth to reach receptive populations.
The unique perspectives, insights, and presence of each individual contribute immensely to the richness of our consultation and the progress of our community. These gatherings have proven to be a source of profound spiritual upliftment and practical guidance, helping communities address challenges and find ways to advance the Cause.

Children's Corner
Each month we will share something for the children in this section of the newsletter. It may be a video, a website, a project, a song, etc. We hope the children like this and get something from our newsletter as well.
Happiness is an upbeat children's song inspired by a quote from the Bahá’í Teachings, "We should at all times manifest our truthfulness and sincerity." The lyrics are from Ruhi Material's Book 3 about "Teaching Children's Classes." A link to their website with more details can be found at: https://www.ruhi.org/en/teachers-corner/

Music Selection
This track, "The Day Will Come", is now available for friends around the world to listen to for personal reflection and meditation, and for sharing during community programs dedicated to commemorating the day of the Martyrdom of the Báb, which is recognized as a holy day in the Bahá'í Faith.
"The Day Will Come" is reverent vocal and piano music set to last words uttered by the Báb before He was executed on July 9, 1850 in Tabríz by order of the Prime Minister of the Persian Empire - the Báb was martyred only because of His claim and teachings as the herald for Bahá'u'lláh (the Messenger of God who founded the Bahá'í Faith).
The Báb declared His Mission in 1844:
"On a spring evening in 1844, a conversation took place between two young men that heralded a new era for the human race. A Persian merchant announced to a traveller in the city of Shiraz that He was the Bearer of a Divine Revelation destined to transform the spiritual life of humanity. The merchant’s name was Siyyid ‘Alí-Muhammad, and He is known to history as the Báb (meaning “the Gate” in Arabic).

InConversation Advancing women’s education in Cambodia and Malawi
BAHÁ’Í WORLD CENTRE — In the latest podcast episode of “In Conversation,” Maina Mkandawire from Malawi and Sokuntheary Reth from Cambodia—members of the Boards of Counsellors in Africa and Asia respectively—explore how some communities are addressing elements of culture that impede women in their pursuit of education and fuller participation in the life of society.
In many societies, they explain, traditional customs tend to prioritize boys’ education, severely impacting the intellectual development of girls and restricting their opportunities to advance in other aspects of their lives.

New podcast fosters dialogue and cohesion
ROME — Intessere—which means “to weave” in Italian and includes the word essere, meaning “to be”—is the name of a new podcast series by the Bahá’ís of Italy that sets out to explore certain social challenges through the simple yet demanding act of conversation.
The name was chosen for its dual meaning, signifying the act of bringing together diverse perspectives while also pointing to the fundamental exploration of human identity that underpins the initiative.

Village chiefs reimagine leadership as service to society
KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia — In the heart of a city where enduring traditions meet contemporary aspirations, ten tok batin—traditional chiefs from Orang Asli villages—along with six representatives attending on behalf of other village leaders, stepped into Malaysia’s national Bahá’í Center for a historic gathering.
The chiefs were greeted in a dignified ceremony by members of Malaysia’s Bahá’í Spiritual Assembly, who placed traditional straw-woven tempok crowns upon their heads. It was a modest gesture, yet it encapsulated the spirit animating the three-day gathering: to reconceptualize leadership itself as a sacred trust, an act of humble service guided by the principle articulated by ‘Abdu’l-Bahá that each person should strive to serve humanity.
