From the Spiritual Assembly

Allah’u’Abha! Dear friends,
As we approach the sacred occasion of the Martyrdom of the Báb, our hearts turn in remembrance of the profound sacrifice made by that youthful Herald of a new Dispensation, who offered His life so that the light of God might be rekindled in the hearts of humankind.

On that fateful day in Tabríz, on the 9th of July 1850, the Báb, the Gate of God, was suspended before a regiment of soldiers. Though thousands witnessed the event, none could silence the force of His Revelation, and no earthly power could extinguish the light He had set ablaze. His teachings awakened a spiritual vitality across Persia, and His words stirred a generation to arise with courage and faith.

Among those who stood most loyally by His side was Anís, a young man whose love and devotion to the Báb were so deep that he pleaded to share in His fate. On the day of the execution, it was Anís who was bound to the Báb, his head resting upon his shoulder, the two united in the supreme sacrifice. The love between the Báb and Anís — the love of the Beloved and the true lover — stands as a shining example of the power of faith and the nobility of the human spirit when devoted wholly to the Cause of God.

Bahá’u’lláh writes:

"The breezes of the All-Merciful have wafted over all created things; the radiance of His light hath encompassed the earth and the heavens. So be ye thankful to God and glorify His Name."

As we remember the Báb, may our hearts be filled with gratitude for the sacrifices made so that the world might be transformed. May we be inspired to live with greater consecration, to walk more faithfully on the path of service, and to let the light of divine love shine ever more brightly through our deeds.

With warmest regards and loving thoughts,
The Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’ís of South Kohala

READ IT

A digital image displays the beginning of a letter. At the top, centered in a slightly larger font, are the words "THE UNIVERSAL HOUSE OF JUSTICE". Below this, right-aligned, is the date "Riḍván 2025". The salutation follows, left-aligned: "To the Baháʼís of the World" and then, on the next line, "Dearly loved Friends,". The body of the letter begins with the paragraph: "With but a year remaining before the first phase of the Nine Year Plan concludes, we are eager to report on its progress—how, through shining examples of noble endeavour, the vision offered by the Faith is filling more and more hearts with hope." The text is presented in a clear, readable serif font on a white background.

LISTEN TO IT

A stylized image with a dreamy, slightly blurred background of soft blue and white roses and dark green foliage features prominent text. Centered and in a large, elegant white font are the words "RIDVAN MESSAGE". Slightly below and to the right, in a smaller white font, is the year "2025". At the very top center, there is a small, rounded rectangle with a teal background containing a series of vertical white lines of varying heights, resembling a soundwave or equalizer. The overall aesthetic is soft, serene, and suggestive of a formal announcement or greeting related to the year 2025.

Musical Selection for the Kids!

Radiance is an upbeat children's song inspired by a quote from the Bahá’í Teachings, "O Son of Being! Thou art My lamp and My light is in thee! Get thou from it thy radiance and seek none other than Me."
The lyrics are from Ruhi Material's Book 3 about "Teaching Children's Classes." A link to their website with more details can be found at: https://www.ruhi.org/en/teachers-corner/

Music Selection

The Lovers of The Bab

The following song was created with inspiration from the following quote,
“We behold, as we survey the episodes of this first act of a sublime drama,
the figure of its Master Hero, the Báb, arise meteor-like above the horizon of
Shíráz, traverse the somber sky of Persia from south to north, decline with
tragic swiftness, and perish in a blaze of glory. We see His satellites, a galaxy
of God-intoxicated heroes, mount above that same horizon, irradiate that same incandescent light, burn themselves out with that self-same swiftness, and impart in their turn an added impetus to the steadily gathering momentum of God’s nascent Faith. . . ."

Community-building in Spain enhances resilience to floods

VALENCIA, Spain — When the skies opened over Spain’s eastern Valencia region on October 29, 2024, no one imagined the devastation that would follow. In just 24 hours, the AEMET meteorological station in Turís recorded an unprecedented 771.8 mm of rain—almost a year’s share poured down in just three hours. The Poyo ravine swelled, unleashing catastrophic flooding across 75 municipalities in eastern Spain.

The floodwaters claimed more than 230 lives, affected 1.8 million residents, and destroyed tens of thousands of homes and businesses. Seven months later, signs of the physical devastation remain visible. But alongside this destruction, another reality has emerged: a profound transformation in how people and entire communities relate to one another.

National initiative harmonizes diverse perspectives on social justice

BRASÍLIA, Brazil — When diverse social actors—from judges to religious leaders, government officials to grassroots organizations—bring their unique perspectives yet engage beyond their institutional viewpoints in genuine dialogue, a profound realization emerges: the path to societal transformation lies not in isolated efforts but in collectively exploring the very foundations of justice itself.

This is the experience unfolding in discussion forums through “Building a Perspective for a Fairer Society,” an initiative of the Bahá’í Office of External Affairs of Brazil in collaboration with the International University of Peripheries (Uniperiferias) and supported by Brazil’s Ministry of Human Rights and Citizenship.

Principle of equality a necessary condition for peace, says the BIC

BIC NEW YORK — In its contribution to discussions at the 69th session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW), the Bahá’í International Community’s (BIC) delegation highlighted how local consultative spaces are enabling communities to foster a culture of peace rooted in the principle of the equality of women and men.

This year’s Commission coincided with the 30th anniversary of the landmark Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action conference, providing a significant opportunity to assess progress and discuss paths forward.
