From the Spiritual Assembly

Allah’u’Abha! Dear friends,

We wanted to take a moment to reflect on the beautiful devotional held at the Waimea Cemetery on September 28th in commemoration of the passing of Martha Root. It was a truly moving and powerful experience that brought us closer together as a community allowing us to honor the life and legacy of this Baha'i pioneer.

Martha Root was an extraordinary woman who dedicated her life to the teachings of the Baha'i Faith around the world. She traveled to over 70 countries, meeting with countless individuals and sharing the message of unity and peace. Her tireless efforts and unwavering faith continue to inspire Baha'is everywhere to this day.

During the devotional at the Waimea Cemetery, We offered prayers for her soul and for all those who continue to carry on her mission of spreading love and compassion to all corners of the globe.

As we stood in the peaceful surroundings of the cemetery, surrounded by the beauty of nature and the quiet whispers of the wind, we felt Martha Root's presence among us. We felt her guiding us and encouraging us to keep striving for a better world, just as she did in her lifetime.

Let us continue to uphold Martha Root's legacy and honor her memory by living our lives in accordance with the teachings of the Baha'i Faith. Let us strive to be beacons of light and hope in a world that is often filled with darkness and despair. And let us never forget the extraordinary example set by Martha Root, whose dedication and commitment to the cause of unity and peace continue to inspire us all.

With warmest regards and loving thoughts,
The Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’ís of South Kohala

Musical Selection for the Kids!

"Identity"

Identity is an upbeat 80s dance funk-pop song on the concept of spiritual identity inspired by a quote from the Baha'i Teachings, "The Master-Key, to self-mastery, is self-forgetting."

The moral themes and character-building content of the music focus on different virtues, human values, and qualities - such as kindness, truthfulness, generosity, love, and patience - that are found within all the world's religious, cultural, and spiritual traditions.

Music for Spiritual Education goes beyond traditional children's nursery rhymes with upbeat kids' music that is both fun, catchy, and inspiring. The playful yet sophisticated creations are designed to delight kids, and help them memorize powerful character-building quotes, while at the same time keeping the adults in their lives listening and dancing along!

Bahá’ís see the young as the most precious treasure a community can possess. In them are the promises and guarantees of the future. Yet, for this promise to be realized, children need to receive spiritual nourishment. In a world where the joy and innocence of childhood can be so easily overwhelmed by the aggressive pursuit of materialistic ends, the moral and spiritual education of children assumes vital importance.

These conscious songs will inspire and motivate your kids to learn, memorize, and dance every step of the way!
