From the Spiritual Assembly
Allah’u’Abha! Dear friends,
As we approach the sacred period of the Bahá’í Fast from March 1st through March 19th, we invite you to reflect on this time of spiritual renewal, prayer, and self-discipline. This annual observance is an opportunity to deepen our connection with Bahá’u’lláh and prepare our hearts for Naw-Rúz, the Bahá’í New Year.
During these 19 days, adult Bahá’ís in good health abstain from food and drink from sunrise to sunset, engaging in meditation and detachment from worldly distractions. It is a time for heightened devotion, personal reflection, and strengthening our sense of unity as a community.
If you would like to join in special devotional gatherings or need guidance on observing the Fast, please let us know. We encourage everyone to support one another in prayer and fellowship during this meaningful time.
Wishing you all a spiritually enriching Fast.
With warmest regards and loving thoughts,

Detachment is an upbeat 80s dance-pop children's song inspired by a quote from the Baha'i Teachings, "Know that thy true adornment consisteth in the love of God and in thy detachment from all save Him."

Chile: New publication explores paths to social transformation
SANTIAGO, Chile — How can societies move beyond superficial approaches to change and begin to foster profound social transformation? This question has been at the center of a series of long-standing conversations among diverse social actors in Chile, culminating in a new publication released by the Bahá’í Office of External Affairs of that country titled Social Transformation: Building a New Vision Together.
The publication synthesizes, through the lens of Bahá’í principles and approaches to social development, the ideas that have emerged from these discussions over the years, which have been held by the Office of External Affairs and brought together academics, civil society organizations, government representatives, and community leaders.

Mexico: Countering violence in neighborhoods through service
MEXICO CITY — Mexico’s Bahá’í Office of External Affairs has been contributing to a series of discussion forums with diverse voices from government, academia, faith communities, and civil society to explore how recognizing the spiritual nature of human beings can help address the roots of violence and strengthen social cohesion.
“We need to find different ways of relating to each other that do not feed into cycles of violence,” said Carlos Ceballos, head of the Theology Department at La Salle University and a participant in a recent discussion forum organized by the Office of External Affairs.

BAHÁ’Í WORLD CENTRE — In the latest podcast episode of the Bahá’í World News Service, Lyazzat Yangaliyeva and Timur Chekparbayev, members of Kazakhstan’s Bahá’í Office of Public Affairs, shared insights from their participation in some of the prevalent discourses in their country over the years, particularly those related to societal harmony.
Mrs. Yangaliyeva and Mr. Chekparbayev reflected on how these insights reveal a growing recognition by social actors of the spiritual nature of social transformation, a recognition which the Office has fostered through forums in which profound questions about society’s future have been explored collectively.
