From the Spiritual Assembly

Allah’u’Abha! Dear friends,

We hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. As we approach the sacred and joyous occasion of the Twin Holy Days of the Birth of the Bab and Baha'u'llah, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on the significance of this remarkable celebration and share our thoughts and feelings with you.

The Twin Holy Days of the Birth of the Bab and Baha'u'llah, celebrated on consecutive days, are a momentous occasion for the worldwide Baha'i community and hold profound spiritual and historical significance. These two days, falling this year on the first and second days of the Baha'i month of 'Ilm, commemorate the birth of two divine Manifestations who played pivotal roles in the unfolding of the Baha'i Faith.

On the first day, we celebrate the birth of the Bab, whose life and mission marked the dawn of a new era in human history. The Bab, whose name means "Gate" in Arabic, was the forerunner of Baha'u'llah and announced the imminent appearance of the Promised One of all ages. His teachings laid the foundation for the transformative message brought by Baha'u'llah, and his unwavering devotion to the cause of unity and justice continues to inspire Baha'is around the world.

The second day of this blessed celebration marks the birth of Baha'u'llah, the Founder of the Baha'i Faith and the fulfillment of the Bab's prophecies. Baha'u'llah's life and teachings offer humanity a blueprint for building a world characterized by peace, unity, and spiritual progress. His enduring message of love, justice, and the oneness of humankind provides hope and guidance in a world beset by division and strife.

As we commemorate these Twin Holy Days, we are reminded of the spiritual connection between the Bab and Baha'u'llah. Their lives, though distinct in their missions, are inseparable in their purpose—to guide humanity toward the realization of its highest potential and the establishment of a global civilization rooted in the principles of unity and justice.

During this special time, Baha'is around the world come together in prayer, reflection, and acts of service to honor the memory and teachings of the Bab and Baha'u'llah. As we are aware of the terrible wildfires that took place on Maui and the number of people in our national community that have been affected by them, perhaps at this time of celebration we can focus our prayers towards the Maui community. Another way we can be of a more tangible service would be to donate to the Hawaiʻi’s Humanitarian Relief Fund. This fund, which is being administered by the National Spiritual Assembly of the Baha’is of the Hawaiian Islands, is for the relief of anyone who may need help because of the Wildfires on Maui or other disasters. Anyone can contribute to this fund and can rest assured that all the money donated will go to help those in need, as the National Spiritual Assembly does not take any administration fees from the donations. If you are interested in donating to this fund you can do so by sending a check to the National Fund with an earmark for the Hawaiʻi’s Humanitarian Relief Fund. Likewise, you can send money over Cash app with the same earmark to $NSAHawaiiBahaiFund.

May these Twin Holy Days celebrations fill our hearts with joy, inspire us to greater service, and reinforce our commitment to working towards a greater release of the society-building power of the Fatih.

With warmest regards and loving thoughts,
The Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’ís of South Kohala

Solaced - Music Inspired by the Heroes Teaching Conference

'Music Inspired by the Heroes Teaching Conference' is a collection of songs inspired by and recorded in light of 'The Heroes Teaching Conference' (6-7 April 2019). The conference was a historic gathering of over 1,000 Baha'i and like-minded friends from all over Southern Queensland and Northern New South Wales, Australia.
Organized by the Regional Baha'i Council and Board of Counsellors, the program aimed to help its participants find their place in service to Baha’u’llah and humanity, by drawing on the heroism of the past, inspiring them to arise, through humble service, and become heroes of the Faith for this age.
Here is the quote used for the lyrics:
"O SON OF BEING! Make mention of Me on My earth, that in My heaven I may remember thee, thus shall Mine eyes and thine be solaced." -Baha'u'llah

Houses of Worship: Officials explore social cohesion at Chile temple

SANTIAGO, Chile — A recent gathering held at the Bahá’í House of Worship in Santiago brought together government officials, the Minister Secretary-General of the Presidency, members of Chile’s National Office of Religious Affairs, and representatives of the country’s Bahá’í community to explore how religion can contribute to building a more cohesive society.

Discussions focused on the idea that service is integral to social progress. This concept represents the essence of Bahá’í Houses of Worship, where prayer and contemplation inspire service to society.

In this episode, Elisa Cooper, who works closely with a network of Bahá’í-inspired organizations around the world which are gaining experience with PSA, joins two young people serving at the Bahá’í World Centre, Karishma Nair from India and Alex Kalumba from Zambia, to discuss how the program is contributing to various aspects of community life, including education, environmental conservation, agriculture, and health.
