From the Spiritual Assembly

Allah’u’Abha! Dear friends,

We hope this letter finds you in good health and spirits. We are writing to share some exciting news regarding the recent revisions made to the Ruhi Institute books. As you may be aware, the Ruhi Institute has played a significant role in the development of our spiritual and community life, providing a systematic approach to studying the Baha'i Writings and fostering personal growth and service.

Over the past few years, the Ruhi Institute has undertaken a thorough revision of its core books and we are now excited to say that all seven books have now been revised. The seven revised books include:

1. Book 1: Reflections on the Life of the Spirit
2. Book 2: Arising to Serve
3. Book 3: Teaching Children's Classes, Grade 1
4. Book 4: The Twin Manifestations
5. Book 5: Releasing the Powers of Junior Youth
6. Book 6: Teaching the Cause
7. Book 7: Walking Together on a Path of Service

These revisions are not merely cosmetic. They incorporate new insights, refine learning approaches, and address the evolving needs of our communities. Given the significance of these changes, it is essential for us to revisit these books, even if we have previously completed them. By doing so, we can fully appreciate the modifications and better understand the rationale behind them.

Retaking these courses will enable us to:

1. Deepen Our Understanding: The revised content includes enhanced explanations, new examples, and updated guidance that reflect the latest thinking in our collective efforts to build vibrant communities.

2. Stay Current: As active participants in the institute process, being aware of these changes ensures that our knowledge is up-to-date, allowing us to effectively mentor and support others in their studies.

3. Engage in Meaningful Conversations: With the revisions come new perspectives and approaches that we can share with others. Understanding these differences allows us to discuss the material with clarity and confidence, fostering richer dialogues within our study circles and communities.

4. Enhance Our Service: The revised books emphasize practical applications of the teachings, equipping us with improved tools to serve our communities more effectively. This is particularly important as we strive to contribute to the material and spiritual prosperity of society.

The Spiritual Assembly of South Kohala encourages all members of our community to embrace this opportunity to retake the revised Ruhi books. Let us approach this endeavor with an open mind and a spirit of learning, ready to absorb new insights and apply them in our daily lives and services.

If you are interested in taking any of these books please reach out to our cluster Study Circle Coordinators. Justin Braithwaite justinbraithwaite@gmail.com or Margret Bechtel mbechtel35@gmail.com

With warmest regards and loving thoughts,
The Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’ís of South Kohala

Papua New Guinea: Architects reflect on PNG temple project

PORT MORESBY, Papua New Guinea — As the inauguration of the Bahá’í House of Worship in Papua New Guinea (PNG) approaches, members of the architectural team, comprising Henry Lape and Saeed Granfar from Port Moresby, reflect on their collaborative journey in creating a design that embodies the Bahá’í principle of unity in diversity.

Mr. Granfar discussed the challenge of creating a structure that would resonate universally in one of the most linguistically and culturally diverse regions of the world. “Our goal was to find a unifying theme—a common thread that connects the diverse peoples of this region,” he said.

In Conversation: Podcast explores implications of oneness for the African–European partnership

BAHÁ’Í WORLD CENTRE — Amid increasing challenges and conflict in the world, a growing recognition is emerging of the interdependence of nations. This vital insight is addressed by the Bahá’í International Community (BIC) in international forums, where its contributions highlight that at a fundamental level, humanity is one.

In the latest podcast episode of the Bahá’í World News Service, representatives from the BIC’s Addis Ababa and Brussels Offices explore the implications of this interdependence within the context of the African Union (AU)–European Union (EU) partnership which recognizes that the two continents are intertwined socially and economically.

AJMAN, United Arab Emirates — A transformative neighborhood initiative is taking root in Ajman. A group of youth, inspired by their participation in Bahá’í moral education programs, have turned a once underutilized plot of land into a flourishing community garden.
